We woke up this morning to hail and snow it was bitterly cold, and I thought we were going to need to get the snow chains out…..Brrrrrrrr!!!!
We are driving north today to Blenheim, and we decided not to stop on the way as it was far too cold and wet. When we eventually get to Blenheim we choose to walk around the town, and we found a plastic box to stick the laptop in (Jane is persistent on dropping sacks of potatoes on the bag)…bargain price too!
It started to rain again, so we headed to the hostel to check in, when we got there they did not know who we were and had no idea of our booking which was quite good really because the hostel was a shit hole. We decided to head up to Nelson and see if we can get into the hostel that we had booked for in 2 nights time. RESULT!!! We were in luck the owner was English his hostel was like his home it was very clean with a raging fire and free wireless internet, boy we had landed on our feet.
I was over the moon as the wireless was free and fast the hostel was clean and tidy there was an open fire, and all the residents were nice and chatty. Jane played Pictionary with some of the guests while I geekily worked away on a new website that I was designing.
This was by far the best decision we have made and by far the best hostel and especially me as I picked it!
