28 Mile Training 02/04/12

2, April 2012 By Danny

Well today was a hard day and we had planned it to be so its not a big surprise. We are heading off to Newquay for a couple of days and Jane needed a wetsuit so we go to a local shop in the Witterings called Neptunes which is run by a very nice cool couple who are very much into surfing and we spend a lot of money in there over the course of the year so I thin they quite like seeing us. Its about 13 miles there and we decided to not go the normal route as we like to keep off teh busy dual carriage ways and keep to the quieter roads. The roads on our new bikes are really bumpy and we found a few bad pot holes which really does shock your arms and my wrists are taking a pounding. after a fair few wrong turns and wishing we had bought that phone mount for the bike sooner and a few stops to look at the GPS we made it to the shop very sweaty but still not tooo tired. We cracked open a can of coke while Jane started trying on wetsuits and what not about an hour passes and we find all the stuff we need and I decided to treat myself to a bodyboard as well so decided we would ride back home and come back in the car to pick everything up save carrying it all the way home on our backs. We found that a lot of the stupid drivers were out today and there were a few close calls and quite frankly I was getting very annoyed with nearly loosing arms to drivers and being cut up we finally made it back home. We are really enjoying the new bike s and you can see that our average speed is increasing so we are hopefully getting fitter. Take a look below to see some stats 🙂
